Service Hour Policy

Many times a request is made to verify community service hours for a variety of situations. Schools, universities, Boy and Girl Scouts, and Court Appointed Hours are all examples. It is very difficult to verify hours on a document when the service is not done in a coordinator’s presence or at a Project Linus event.  As a result, our national headquarters prohibits us from signing verification of these hours unless they are done at one of our events. Please see the updates page and Facebook page to learn about our next event.

I would like to make blankets, but don’t know who to contact. When are they due?

Hi Jordan! Our next Make A Blanket Day is on Saturday, March 19, at the College of the Canyons University Center. The event is in a drive-through/drop-off format due to COVID, so you make your blankets ahead of time and drop them off with us.
Stay tuned for the sign up form which should appear on this website and on our social media (projectlinusscv on instagram and facebook) soon! When you fill out that form, you can earn service hours from making blankets at home!
      Hope to see you there!

How many hours do you get per blanket?

    • sgarvar January 28, 2023 / 2:35 am

Hi Makayla – Each blanket is 1.5 yards, single layer using the following pattern https://youtube.com/watch?v=2vEzen4G5n8&feature=shares . Each blanket submitted is worth 2 hours for one person. We are only able to sign service hours on Make a Blanket Days. Service hours are not signed on any other days of the year for our chapter. Our next event is on March 4, 2023 from 10 am to 4 pm at COC in the East Gym. Hope to see you there.
